DEL NORTE – Del Norte resident Guadalupe Aguilar Hernandez, 82, passed away October 10, 2009 at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Denver. Guadalupe was born August 21, 1927 in Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Guadalupe Aguilar and Carmen Hernandez Aguilar. He enjoyed going to bingo, taking walks, drinking coffee and spending time with his loving family.

Survivors include his life partner Donaciana Benavidez of Del Norte, CO; wife Elvira Aguilar of Center, CO; daughter Maria (Ines) Gardea of Center, CO; four sons Adan (Veronica) Aguilar of Center, CO; Jose Luis (Elizabeth) Aguilar of Del Norte, CO; Jose (Anita) Aguilar of Center, CO; Antonio Aguilar of Chihuahua, MX; 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; three sisters Eva (Alfonso) Guaderrama of Center, CO; Adela Palacios; Consuelo Granillo both of Chihuahua, MX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Gilberto, Jose Aguilar, two sisters Rita and Emilia Aguilar.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 7:00 PM at St. Francis Jerome Church in Center. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Jerome Church. Interment will follow at Del Norte Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
