ALAMOSA – David B. Peeples, 40, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his home in Alamosa. Mr. Peeples was born September 19, 1969 in Salida, Colorado to Bruce and Karen [Bowden] Peeples.
Mr. Peeples enjoyed horses and wrestling. He graduated from Salida High School in 1988, where he was on the high school wrestling team all four years. He then attended Mesa State in Grand Junction graduating in 1993, Suma Cum Lade. Mr. Peeples was the Language Arts Teacher at the Middle School in Monte Vista, Colorado from 1993-1999. He then was then the high school Language Arts Teacher at Sangre De Cristo High School in Mosca, Colorado from 1999–2001. He then went back to the Middle School in Monte Vista to his former job as the Middle School Language Arts Teacher from 2001-2008. While at the Monte Vista Middle School, he was the Head Football Coach from 1994–1995, was the Wrestling Coach from 1993–1999 and 2001–2008. He was the assistant head wrestling coach for Monte Vista High School in 1995. Also, he was Monte Vista Middle School Student Council Sponsor from 2004–2007. Mr. Peeples was a teacher from 2008 to present with the Byron Spring Delta Center On-Line Academy in Monte Vista. He was also a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Salida.
His parents Bruce and Karen Peeples of Salida, Colorado, son Jonovan Quintana of Alamosa, Colorado, daughter Bailey Quintana of Alamosa, Colorado, brother Doug Peeples of Deer Lodge, MT., nephew Lane Peeples of Deer Lodge, MT., uncle Lee [Peggy] Bowden of Howard, Colorado, grandfather Dann Jurgens of Denver, Colorado, grandmother Donna [Norm] Macumber of Roseville, CA. and girlfriend Monica Sanchez of Alamosa, Colorado survive Mr. Peeples.
Memorial Services are set for 11:00 am on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Temple Baptist Church in Salida. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions in the memory of David B. Peeples to Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home with the funds to be used to set up college accounts for his children. The contributions may be sent to 203 E. Sackett Ave., Salida, Colorado 81201. Arrangements are with Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
