40th Southern Rocky Mountain Ag Conference set for Feb. 1-3

Annual event will be held in person at new event center

MONTE VISTA — The 40th Annual Southern Rocky Mountain Agriculture Conference and Trade Show will be at the new event center Feb. 1-3. The theme of this year's conference is "Cultivating Ideas For Growth."

The trade show is open to the public at no cost, but all other events are by registration only, with an upfront registration cost to attend.

The conference will be held at the new event center at the Ski Hi Complex in Monte Vista.

Jim Yahn is the keynote speaker. Yahn is the manager of the North Sterling and Prewitt Reservoirs. Yahn has worked with over-appropriated water systems for many years and is familiar with the impact that communities go through when their water wells are shut off.

The conference will feature Chef Jason K. Morse, who is an executive chef and member of the American Culinary Federation. Chef Morse has been featured in many national and local media settings, including the Food Network.

Featured sessions at the conference include a Grazing Symposium by Jim Gerrish; Ag Labor Laws presented by Dan Waldvogle; and Succession Planning presented by Jeff Tranel.

The conference is known for its quality guest speakers and demonstrations to help people in the agriculture community gain more information on how to market and improve their products.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much of the past two ag conferences were conducted virtually.
