Center Christmas parade set for Dec. 16

CENTER — The Annual Center Christmas Parade, hosted by the Kiwanis Club and the town of Center will take place Dec. 16 at 1 p.m. The parade will start at town hall and will be followed by a visit from Santa at the gazebo in Casa Blanca Park.

If weather is snowy or too cold, Santa will visit with children and hand out candy at the Boys and Girls Club. A Christmas tree also will be set up at the park and children will be invited to help decorate the tree, weather permitting, when they have visited Santa.

Donations are needed for drawings and can be brought to Center Town Hall or the Gunbarrel Station on Highways 112 and 285. Turkeys, hams, five $20 gift certificates and door prizes will be given away at the park and cans will be available at different locations to deposit the drawing tickets. Prizes of $100, $75 and $50 also will be awarded for the three best floats.

The Kiwanis Club and town officials are asking that residents make an effort to bring more floats to the parade this year. Everyone is welcome. For more information call 754-3497.
