CPD: Drugs found in Center apartments; three people arrested 

CENTER — Three people were arrested after drugs, cash and stolen property were found Tuesday morning, June 1, the Center Police Department reported. 

At approximately 9:30 a.m., on June 1, the Center Police Department, supported by officers from the Monte Vista Police Department, deputies from the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from the Colorado State Patrol, simultaneously served two search warrants in the Casa de Cortez Apartments in Center.  

These warrants were part of an ongoing narcotics investigation involving two separate parties that were operating drug distribution centers out of their apartments, according to CPD. These warrants were based upon surveillance, acquired intelligence and previous drug arrests. 

Several items were taken into custody from the warrants, including more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine, drug paraphernalia, over $1,000 in cash, a stolen TV, suspected stolen tools, a stolen hand safe from Big R and a suspected stolen handgun. 

Three people were arrested resulted from the serving of the search warrants. CPD has not released the names of who was arrested or what they were charged with, stating that it was an ongoing investigation, and that more information would be released when it became available.
