To the editor,

I would like to thank the Town Board, Mayor Tony Garcia and Town Administrator Brian Lujan for voting last week to pass an ordinance for masks in Center. This was a first step in slowing down the virus so we can return to formal activities and August school sessions. I appreciate Tony, trustee Peggy (Martinez) and Brian for listening and responding to citizens’ concerns as well as mine.

Now, the work is providing masks. I would like to share my gratitude to Maria Villagomez for her help with finding people willing to make masks and those in need of masks. A special thank you goes out to Heidi Stevenson, Gloria Villagomez and Adele Alfson for making masks or donating fabric.
The Saguache County Commissioners donated 400 disposable masks for distribution to our kids and their families in quarantine. I wanted to show my appreciation and recognize all of you. Thank you so very, very much.
