Suspect still at large in weekend shooting

MOFFAT — According to a post on Facebook, the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office received a call at about 1 a.m. June 9 reporting that a shooting had just occurred in the town of Moffat. The woman who called in the shooting was the victim.


She reported that two men had been fighting and when she tried to break up the fight, a gun in the possession of one of the men went off, hitting her in the foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she later underwent surgery for her injuries.


One of the suspects, Mark Ray, 48, was taken into custody and charged with offenses unrelated to the incident. The other suspect, Jesse Jones, is still being sought by law enforcement. Warrants have been issued for his arrest. Jones may be riding a teal-colored motorcycle.
