SAGUACHE— At the beginning of January, Mountain Valley staff honored each other with traveling staff awards. This month’s recipients include Crystal Knight who received the “I Love Kids” award.
Knight is a paraprofessional within the district and works with children of all ages. She works to guide them in skill development, organization and to improve understanding and deeper meaning of material. Crystal is always positive and encourages students and staff to share kindness.
The “Above and Beyond” award was passed to another paraprofessional, Paula Christine. Christine comes from Wyoming and brings a vast and varied background to the district.  She works with the first through third grades and fifth grade classes helping students with reading and math skills and goes beyond the normal scope of curriculum to address the needs of each learner. She creates lessons and brings in a variety of activities to engage each child.
The “Continuous Creativity” award was shared with Samantha Teti, fourth grade teacher. Teti always has a variety of activities for science and social studies which includes science fair projects, experiments, research, collaboration projects and even a class
 debate.
Finally, the “Awesome Attitude” award was given to Heidi Gallegos, one of our preschool teachers. Gallegos always has a positive and giving attitude which she freely shares with the youngest students. The preschool class is always a great place to be.
Gallegos, Peggy Williams and director Lacy Reed give love and care to each child and work to develop their physical, social and emotional health so they are ready to learn!
Congratulations to all the staff honorees for a job well done!
