Vickie Lynn Myers

Long-time Center resident Vickie Lynn Myers, 67, passed away on Sept. 10, 2022. She was born in West Virginia on Jan. 23, 1955, to Jack and Billie Jean (Carter) Shrewsbury.

Vickie married Gerald Walker Myers in Aurora, Colo., on May 28, 1977. Vickie was a member of the Master Farm Homemakers, United Methodist Women, Martha Circle, the Town and Country Club a 4-H volunteer and the Minnie L. Harding Education Loan Fund Committee. 

Vickie had a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics, was a substitute teacher and volunteered to teach Bible School. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Gerald, spent many hours in her sewing room and above all, loved spending time with her family. She had the highest standards for being a mom and grandma to her family.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Myers of Center, her children Cory (Brandy) Myers of Center and Brad (Brittany) Myers of Bryan, Texas, her grandchildren, Coulter, Corbin, Colsen and Katelynn, her sister Nancy (Kit) Greenbaum, her brothers-in-law and sisters in-law, Caren and Dave Graham and Cheryl and Duane Fransen, her uncle Donald Shrewsbury of Cullman, Ala., and her nieces and nephews, Randy (Brandi) Greenbaum, Kayla (Kent) Herrman, Kelly (Travis) Polzin, Ryan (Casey) Graham, Dale (Keri) Fransen and Matthew Fransen as well as other extended family.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Don and Shirley Myers.

Cremation was selected and a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19, at the Center United Methodist Church. Contributions are suggested to Beaver Creek or to the Center United Methodist Church and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
