ALAMOSA – The Del Norte High School athletics department announced last week that the rest of the varsity football season will not be played this season.
There were a total of only 15 players on the varsity team when the season started. Approximately half of them were freshmen.
The Tigers played only one game this season, a 46-7 loss to Olathe at home on Aug. 30.
Del Norte athletics director Gilbert Sanchez said that the school will instead play a junior varsity schedule.
