ALAMOSA – The Sargent High School girls swimming team took every event when it hosted Pagosa Springs Tuesday at Adams State University’s Plachy Hall pool.
The Lady Farmers won the meet 122-44.
Two Sargent swimmers won two events. Emma Sewell won the 100-yard butterfly in a state qualifying time of 1:08.37, and she also won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.75, also a state qualifying time.
Also winning two events was Alycia Martinez-Chavez. She won the 50-yard freestyle in 29.86 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:15.22.
KayLee Gonzales-Moore was the winner of the 2000-yard freestyle in 2:22.83. She was also second in the100 breaststroke in 1:15.04 which also met the state qualifying time.
Madeline Mitchell won the 200-yard individual medley in 3:11.73. She also took second in the 100 freestyle in 1:14.36.
Rachel Polkowske was the winner of the 100 freestyle in 1:11.45 and was second in the 50 freestyle in 31.48 seconds.
Veronica Kincannon won the 500-yard freestyle in 7:38.31.
Other Lady Farmer placers included Bella Anderson who was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:39.48, Bella Clouse who was third in the 200 freestyle in 2:51.84 and third in the 100 backstroke in 1:24.80, Isabella Lopez who was second in the 200 IM in 3:30.22, Kyra Griffin who was second in the 100 butterfly in 1:20.20 and second in the 100 backstroke in 1:23.54, Rusch Pepper who was third in the 100 freestyle in 1:20.96 and fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:37.29, Jade Canales who was second in the 500 freestyle in 7:51.15, Abigail Adams who was fifth in the 500 freestyle in 9:39.02, and Kaitlynn Roberts who was sixth in the 50 freestyle in 41.83 seconds.
In relay events, the team of Sewell, Gonzales-Moore, Anderson and Martinez-Chavez won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:09.34 and t5hey also won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:57.25. Both times met state qualifying standards.
Canales, Clouse, Pepper and Polkowske won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 5:19.03.
Sargent is at the Pueblo County Hornet Invitational this weekend.
