Our loving mother Betty Mary Ann Maestas entered into eternal rest on Dec. 27, 2023, at the age of 83. Betty is the daughter of the late Pete and Matilda Martinez of Monte Vista, Colo.

She had two sisters, Domey Salazar, and the late Francis Medina, three children, Max Maestas, Geri McKinney and Joanne Maestas, and her grandchildren Joseph, Taylor, Sara, Samuel, and Raelyn.

Betty retired from the Department of Defense and served 8 years in the United States Naval Reserves. She had many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.

She resided in Charleston, S.C., with her daughter. She will be greatly missed.
