Mike Gill, of Creede, Colo., unexpectedly went to his eternal home in heaven on Jan. 22, 2024, at the age of 68.

He was born on Aug. 10, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents John and Carolyn "Ree" Gill. Majority of his childhood and adult life was spent in San Angelo, Texas.

As an adult he was a family man and was successful in opening and running a tire business in San Angelo. Mike was dedicated to his children and their passion for all activities. Weekends were typically spent anywhere baseball was found, fishing, hunting or anything outdoors with the kids. He coached Little League for many years, and it was forever a passion.

A dream since he was a child was to eventually move to Colorado and start a life there. He fulfilled his dream and eventually sold his tire business and retired to Creede, Colo., where he was active in the community. Many of the people he met quickly became friends and eventually family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by two siblings and his children, daughter Kristy Ames and her husband Nick Ames and their children Karina, Gavin, Patience and Brijae, son Cade Gill and his wife Jayme and their children Jordyn and Colten, daughter Kelly Payne and her husband Aaron Payne and their children Joseph, Emma, and Maddie, son Ryan Gill and his children Kelby, Hunter, Garrett, Connor and Abigail, son Joe Berry and wife Crystal Berry and their children Dean, Caitlyn and Jayden.

To Mike family was very important, but his grandkids trumped all. The love and support for his grandkids was something special and he would have moved mountains for them. Mike will be truly missed by the many family and friends that he had as he was loved by all.
