15 SLV baseball players named All-State by CHSAA

ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association released its All-State baseball teams on Monday with 15 athletes from the San Luis Valley being recognized.

The All-State teams are posted on the CHSAANow.com web site.

Class 2A

Monte Vista had the most All-State players among SLV teams with five on the Class 2A team. The Pirates were led by senior Kaden Mellott, who was placed on the second team.

The remaining four Pirates were honorable mention selections in senior Jeremiah Baumgardner, junior Azariah Hurtado, sophomore Jakoby Ross, and freshman Landon Sanchez.

Center had two All-State players in junior Ivan Guaderrama, and senior Nicolas Palma, both of whom were honorable mention.

Sanford had one selection in sophomore Rylan Mortensen, who was an honorable mention player.

Class 3A

Both Alamosa and Centauri had one selection in Class 3A. Both were honorable mention.

For the Mean Moose, sophomore Jonah Pittman was selected, while senior Parker Buhr represented the Falcons.

Class 1A

Sargent led among local Class 1A schools with three selections. Senior Tytus Atencio, junior Paul Neal, and senior Kade Temple were all honorable mention.

Both Antonito and Sierra Grande had one selection, both of whom were honorable mention. Junior Rylan Trant represented the Trojans, and senior Kobe Mizokami represented the Panthers.
