Suspect wanted in connection with a shooting at 12:22 pm on Saturday remains at large. Identified as Manuel Moreno, ASO is continuing the search in partnership with the local, state and federal law enforcement including the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force.

ASO updates public on search for weekend shooting suspect

ALAMOSA —In a statement released over the weekend, as of January 25, 2026, the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) continues to investigate a recent shooting that took place within county limits. ASO is working in partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, to locate and apprehend Manuel Moreno, who remains at large. 

Sheriff Jackson also states that the shooting happened between two individuals known to each other. While Moreno is listed as armed, he is not considered to be a risk to the general public. However, if seen, ASO is instructing members of the public to not approach the suspect. but contact ASO or CSP immediately at the following numbers.

ASO is asking anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Manuel Moreno to contact CSP Dispatch at 719-589-5807 or the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit at 719-589-6608.

Updates will be provided as the investigation continues and as the situation evolves.

As was previously reported, on Saturday, January 24, at approximately 12:22 p.m., deputies with the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 6351 County Road 106.25 following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located one adult male victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by emergency medical personnel to the Alamosa Emergency Room for treatment.

During the course of the investigation, Manuel Moreno has been identified as a person of interest in this incident. Moreno is considered armed and remains at large.

At this time, investigators believe this to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the general public.
