CONEJOS COUNTY — Four law enforcement officers were recognized by the Conejos County Commissioners this week for their outstanding work in the investigation of a tragic case.
District Attorney Anne Kelly was on hand as each individual was presented with a plaque honoring their service that clearly went “above and beyond.”
Kelly also issued the following statement in conjunction with the presentation.
“We are so fortunate in this community to have passionate and dedicated defenders of justice who both reside here in the Valley or are available at a moment’s notice to provide critical assistance to our local law enforcement agencies.
“On Thursday, four of these amazing public servants were honored by the Conejos County Commissioners for their tireless work in investigating a tragic case that had profound effects on the entire San Luis Valley, but particularly the Conejos County community. I am so proud to work alongside these courageous and relentless fighters.
“The Colorado Bureau of Investigation worked closely with the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office to present my office with a strong, compelling case capable of being aggressively prosecuted. Honor and recognition for Agents Courtney McCormack and Andrew Marceau and Deputies Laura Amaya and Tony Galvez are indeed well deserved.”
