Chamber Member Appreciation Art Gala is May 10

Nominations sought for several awards

ALAMOSA — The Alamosa County Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the Chamber Member Appreciation Art Gala on May 10. 

The chamber is seeking nominations for a business or person in one of the following award categories. To nominate a business or person see the Chamber website alamosachamber.org. All submissions are due by 5 p.m. on March 30. 

Nominations should be made based on criteria listed under each category. All recognized businesses must be current members of the Chamber in good standing. Individuals do not need to be affiliated with a Chamber Member. You may submit more than one nomination and multiple nominees for each category; submit a new application for each. Self-nominations are accepted for any category. Winners will be selected by membership vote. Awards will be awarded at the Art Gala on May 10. 

AWARD CATEGORIES 

  • SPIRIT OF ALAMOSA AWARD

This award is for a business or organization that has contributed a high level of time, skills, and or resources to the Alamosa County Chamber and community of Alamosa.  

  • TRUE GRIT AWARD

This award is to give recognition to a business which has demonstrated an exemplary level of tenacity, perseverance, and determination to overcome a great challenge in the recent year. 

  • VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

This award is for an individual that has devoted significant time and efforts to community service initiatives and Chamber-sponsored functions that positively impact the Alamosa area and/or greater SLV. 

  • BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD

The Business of the Year award will be given to the company that demonstrates all-round excellence in business and community stewardship. The judging will focus on how the business demonstrates a high level of local spirit, leadership, perseverance, creativity, and determination. Other factors that will be considered include service to the community, customer and employee satisfaction, growth and overall excellence.
