ALAMOSA – Here are the latest MaxPreps track and field rankings after competition on April 4.

The Top 18 marks and times in each event in Classes 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A will qualify for their respective state meets. In Class 1A, the Top 9 sprints and hurdles, the Top 12 distance events and the Top 10 field events will qualify for state.

The CHSAA state track and field meet will take place May 14-16 at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.

Class 3A

Alamosa

In Class 3A, Alamosa High School currently has 12 athletes in the Top 18 in their respective events.

Leading the way for the Mean Moose boys is Ethan Merrick who is ranked in two events. He has the second-best time in the 3,200-meter run in 9:40.84, and he is also fourth in the 1,600 in 4:30.51.

Adlai Gardner is also ranked in two events as he is fifth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 41.86 seconds. He is also 17th in the 400-meter dash in 51.69.

Also ranked for the Alamosa boys are Timone Dolan who is 10th in the 400 in 51.00, and Jeremiah DeLaCerda who is 13th in the 3,200 in 10:13.82.

Alamosa has eight girls who are in the Top 18. It is led by Timay Garcia who has the best height in the pole vault at 10-2. Brandi Garrison is second in the discus at 117-7.

Kailynn King is ranked in three events. She is eighth in the 400 in 1:00.61, 14th in the 100 in 13.13, and 16th in the 200 in 27.17.

Other ranked Mean Moose girls include Sylvia Daugherty who is ninth in the 400 in 1:01.55, Darlyn Jackson who is tied for ninth in the high jump at 5-0, Brooklyn Boehm who is tied for 14th, in the shot put at 31-8, Braelyn Martinez who is tied for 16th in the pole vault at 7-3, and Amelia Martinez who is 18th in the pole vault at 7-2.

Alamosa is eighth in the girls 4x800-meter relay in 10:46.15.

Centauri

Centauri has seven athletes who are in a position to qualify for state.

For the Falcon boys, Blake Johnson is seventh in the shot put at 45-2, Dallyn King is ninth in the 200 in 22.90 and 11th in the 100 in 11.39, and Ben Norton is 11th in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 42.67 and 15th in the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.99.

The Centauri girls are led by Alyvia Norton who is tied for second in the high jump at 5-3. Brooklyn Shawcroft is tied for 11th in the pole vault at 7-9, Analyn Dwyer is tied for 13th in the high jump at 4-11, and Genesi Morris is 17th in the triple jump at 32-2 ½.

The Falcons are 18th in the girls 4x800 in 4:29.83.

Class 2A

Center

Center has two ranked athletes – one boy and one girl.

For the Viking boys, Anjel Palma is 13th in the triple jump at 37-10.  Emiliana Valdez is the only Viking girl who is ranked as she is 15th in the shot put at 30-8.

The Center girls are ranked in two relays. They are 11th in the 4x200 in 1:54.82, and 12th in the 4x100 in 53.69.

Del Norte

Del Norte has seven ranked individuals – four boys and three girls.

For the Tigers’ boys team, Damon Ledford-Vigil has the best height in the pole vault at 14-3. Corbin Horrocks is 10th in the pole vault at 11-3.

Mads Kreurtzer is ranked in three events. He is 12th in the 800 in 2:08.00, 14th in the 1,600 in 49.57 and 15th in the 3,200 in 10:44.69.

Brandon Hemmerling is 14th in the 200 meters in 23.38 seconds.

The Del Norte boys are ranked in two relays. They are fourth in the 4x800 in 8:53.37, and eighth in the 4x400 in 3:41.86.

For the Del Norte girls, Madeline Mitchell is tied for third in the pole vault at 8-6, Taylor Off is tied for eighth in the high jump at 4-8, and Scarlett Maxwell is 13th ibn the 3,200 in 12:25.64.

Del Norte is ranked in one girls relay. It is 11th in the 4x800 in 11:21.46.

Monte Vista

The Monte Vista track program has three ranked individuals.

For the Pirates boys, Christian Hernandez is 12th in the 110 hurdles in 18.55, and John Jake Naranjo is 18th in the discus at 118-7.

Monte Vista is ranked in two boys relays. They are 12t in the 4x200 in 1:37.74, and 16th in the 4x100 in 46.60.

Shae Romero is the only Monte Vista girl in the rankings and she appears in four events. She is second in the 400 in 59.94, second in the 800 in 2:21.34, fourth in the 200 in 26.44 and 13th in the 1,600 in 5:35.16.

The Pirates girls are third in the 4x200 in 1:52.38.

Sanford

Sanford has only two ranked boys and no ranked girls.

Kaulen Miller is tied for 12th in the high jump at 5-8, and Blake Miller is 15th in the 110 hurdles in 19.06.

Class 1A

Antonito

Antonito has only one ranked individual in Dean Garcia who is 10th in the 3,200 in 12:03.82. There are currently no ranked Trojan girls.

Creede

Creede also has one ranked athlete in Ava Mankowski who is 10th in the discus at 95-3. No Miner boys are currently in position to qualify for state.

Moffat

Moffat has two individuals in the rankings. The Cowboys are led by Javad Taylor who is ranked in two events. He is tied for fifth in the 100 in 11.80 and sixth in the 200 in 24.30.

Also ranked for the Moffat Chase is Shellalbarger who is seventh in the shot put at 41-10 ½.

No Moffat girls are in the rankings.

Sangre de Cristo

The Sangre de Cristo boys have two athletes in the rankings. Brody Artaechevarria is in three events as he is fifth in the 800 in 2:10.26, sixth in the 400 in 54.35 and ninth in the triple jump at, 37-3.

Also ranked for the Thunderbirds is Asher Allington who is 10th in the pole vault at 7-4.

No Sangre girls are currently ranked.

Sierra Grande

Sierra Grande has one ranked athlete in Rolando Najera who is seventh in the long jump at 19-3.

No Panther girls are in the rankings.
