Mary Patricia Karr, 76, of Creede, Colo., passed away in peace on Dec. 16, 2024. Mary was born April 27, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wis., the daughter of John E. Crowley, Sr. and Delores "Pat" Patricia Conley.
Mary graduated from Zama High School, Okinawa, Japan in 1966, then went on to earn a nursing degree at the St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa, during which time she met her husband, Dennis. Mary married Dennis D. Karr of Sioux City, Iowa, on Aug. 3, 1968, at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Sioux City. Mary and Dennis remained married for more than 56 years until her passing. They had seven children.
Mary worked as a nurse until she retired in 2010. She loved doing crafts, reading and taking care of her family. Mary was a devout Catholic and active member of the Immaculate Conception church in Creede, Colo.
Mary is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, Ryan, Kristin, Carrie, Paul, David and wife Katie, Jesse, and Edward; sisters, Kathy and husband Kiran, Bridget, and Nora; brothers, Tim, Kevin and Rory; an uncle, Bill; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends in the Creede community.
Preceding Mary in death are parents, John and Pat; sister, Maggie; and brother, John.
Mary will be deeply missed.
