ALAMOSA – Tim Yount released his sixth On the Mat rankings of the season on Thursday with several local competitors being recognized.
Class 3A
Alamosa returned to the No. 2 position in the Class 3A team rankings, trailing only Mullen. Centauri is ranked ninth.
Following Mullen and Alamosa are Brush, Gunnison, Valley, Eaton, Fort Lupton, Resurrection Christian, Centauri and Fort Morgan.
Alamosa
The Mean Moose have seven ranked wrestlers and they are led by Dyson Woodward who tops the 150-pound rankings. Uriah Martinez is second at 126, Anthony Meder is second at 113, Jeremiah DeLaCerda is third at 106, and Pablito Rodriguez is fourth at 120.
Also ranked for Alamosa are Jace Morgan who is ninth at 165, and Ryan Cordova who is 14th at 157.
Centauri
The Falcons have six wrestlers in the rankings. They are led Matthew Salazar who is first at 106, Parker Buhr who is second at 157, and Caden Casias who is second at 120.
Other ranked Centauri wrestlers include Spencer Smith who is seventh at 175, Troy Munson who is eighth at 165, and Nik Skadberg who is ninth at 144.
Class 2A
Two local schools are in the Class 2A team rankings as Center is sixth and Monte Vista is seventh.
Cedaredge is ranked first, followed by Wray, North Fork, Rocky Ford, Highland, Center, Monte Vista, Fowler, Walsenburg and Wiggins.
Antonito
The Trojans currently have no wrestlers in the rankings.
Center
The Vikings have seven ranked grapplers and are led by Aaron Valadez who leads the pack at 150 pounds. Andre Meraz is second at 144, and Martin Palma is third at 165.
Other ranked Center wrestlers include Michael Archuleta who is eighth at 113, Nicolas Palma who is ninth at 120, Caden Ruggles who is 11th at 157, and Matthew Archuleta who is 15th at 126.
Del Norte
There are two Tigers in the rankings including Wyatt McIehaney who is seventh at 215, and Paul Neal who is ninth at 157.
Monte Vista
Six Pirates are currently ranked. Leading the way are Kevin Cisneros who is second at 150, Jeremiah Baumgardner who is third at 175, and Jacob Pacheco who is fourth at 165.
Other ranked Monte Vista wrestlers include Matthew Rodriguez who is seventh at 113, Elijah Baumgardner who is 11th at 132, and Mathieu Dean who is 11th at 106.
Sargent
Jaycian Sierra is the only ranked Farmer as he is 10th at 132.
Sierra Grande/Centennial
The Panthers have two ranked wrestlers including Diego Rodriguez who is 11th at 113, and Bryant Tijerina who is 13th at 132.
Class 4A girls
Alamosa is ranked 10th in the Class 4A girls team rankings.
Pueblo Central is ranked first, followed by Lamar, Sedgwick County/Fleming, Strasburg, Severance, Yuma, Canon City, Moffat County, Skyview, Alamosa, Wiggins, Montezuma-Cortez, Wray, Gunnison, La Junta, Evergreen, Berthoud, Eagle Valley, Manitou Springs, Holy Family, Sterling, West Grand and Woodland Park.
Alamosa
The Lady Mean Moose have four ranked wrestlers. Samantha Maestas (120) and Gizelle Meraz (115) are at the top of their respective weight divisions.
Also ranked for Alamosa are Kennedy Hillis who is eighth at 110, and Leah Pintor who is 15th at 100.
Antonito
The Lady Trojans have three ranked wrestlers including Alyssa Abeyta who is seventh at 100, Anaiya Romero who is 12th at 120, and Lauren Gallegos who is 13th at 125.
Del Norte
The Lady Tigers currently have no ranked wrestlers
Monte Vista
Torrina Herrera is the only ranked Lady Pirate as she is sixth at 120.
