ALAMOSA – The Monte Vista High School girls golf team opened the 2026 season by winning the Swink Invitational Monday at the La Junta Municipal Golf Course.
The Pirates had a score of 280, which was seven strokes better than runner-up Rye.
Kaylee Voss had Monte Vista’s best score as she finished sixth with a 92. Kaitlynn Roberts was seventh with a 93, Reagan Futrell tied for eighth with a 95, and Krissa Padilla tied for 13th with a 105.
The Pirates entered a second team which finished eighth with 342. It was led by Destiny Pacheco, Mazi Hinds and Evie Hinds who all tied for 22nd with a 114. Jacy Phillips was 44th with a 126.
Eads’ Reese Barnett was the medalist with a one-over-par 73.
Monte Vista’s next action will be the Monte Vista Invitational on April 3. It will also mark Alamosa’s season opener.
