MONTE VISTA – On Dec. 6-8, the Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce held its annual Holiday Bazaar at the Ski-Hi Complex. Hundreds of people came to the bazaar each day that featured more than 100 vendors.
The bazaar was festive, and busy, decorated everywhere that your eyes could see for Christmas, with beautiful garlands lining many tables. There were also Christmas trees set up in many areas of the bazaar and the Grinch and Santa Claus walked around smiling and taking pictures with children and adults alike.
There were a variety of vendors selling beautiful, handcrafted jewelry and leather works, delicious baked goods, including cookies, cupcakes, pies, rice crispy treats, fudge, homemade tortillas, homemade candies, and breads. There were vendors selling hand painted wooden signs, keychains, Christmas knickknacks, Christmas ornaments, and nativity scenes. People sat in the back of the bazaar on benches, enjoying treats and other items that they had purchased.
Monte Vista Chamber of Commerce Director Heather Hillin said, “The bazaar is amazing. Everyone is having a lot of fun. We have so many vendors and they are doing so well. I have heard the vendors say that they are selling a lot. Despite there being a lot of events in other towns this weekend, I think this event is still doing very well. This is so great for our community too. This boosts our local money. The bazaar helps us keep our money local, and it brings people together in the community. I am very happy with the turnout this year. This is just fun and festive and gives everyone a chance to enjoy their weekend and do some early Christmas shopping with and for their loved ones.”
Hillin said that she hopes everyone enjoyed the entertainment and festivities at the Bazaar and thanked everyone who helped with the bazaar.
