MONTE VISTA – A total of 11 teams and 63 individuals competed at the Monte Vista Invitational Friday at the Monte Vista Golf Course.

Monte Vista finished second in its home tournament with 248 – three strokes behond tourney champion Pagosa Springs with 245.

The Pirates were led by Connor Mellott who was the individual medalist with an even par 70. Jakoby Ross tied for 11^th with an 87, and Corbin Castillo and Aiden Ford both tied for 20^th with a 91.

Five more Pirates competed as extras and did not figure in the team scoring. Logan Futrell tied for 32^nd with a 99, Uriah Fielder was 39^th with a 103, Jason Gonzales tied for 40^th with a 104, Rylen Ross was 53^rd with a 114, and Zaiden Villagomez was 59^th with a 129.

Alamosa took third place with 255. Leading the Mean Moose was Serjio Najera who tied for third with an 84. Eliott MacKey tied for sixth with an 85, Gibson Gillespie tied for ninth with an 86, and Clayton Treinen tied for 14^th with an 89.

Eight more Alamosa golfers were extras and they took did not figure in the team scoring. Zavier Medina tied for third with an 84, Foster Boyd tied for 14^th with an 89, Brady Van Iwaarden and Jace Sanchez both tied for 17^th with a 90, Kyan Mason tied for 25^th with a 96, Tate Baker tied for 30^th with a 98, and Erik Garcia and Jaron Mason tied for 47^th with a 109.

Del Norte was 11^th with 377. Damon Ledford-Vigil and Julian Vigil were the Tigers’ leaders as they both tied for 56^th with a 121. Graesyn Coulson tied for 61^st with a 135.

Landan Velasquez started the tournament but withdrew because of an injury.
