Powerful Texas Troubadour Aaron LaCombe comes to Society Hall

ALAMOSA — It’s another weekend, which means another memorable night is on tap at Society Hall where those fine folks are thrilled to welcome the award-winning Texas troubadour Aaron LaCombe, Saturday, June 20th at 7:30 p.m..

Aaron LaCombe is a powerhouse songwriter, singer, guitarist and performer whose music is strongly reminiscent and very much in the straightforward, rough-hewn Texas singer-songwriter tradition of Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, and Robert Earl Keen. And whichever way you want to look at it, he’s not far behind them in any way.

LaCombe’s show consists of ninety minutes or more of heartfelt songs and the stories behind them that resonates with a person at a deeper than usual level. Whether in an acoustic listening room or a full band show at a festival, Aaron connects with the audience like almost no one else can.

In fact, connection with the audience is one of his strengths.

“A lot of folks write songs about broad topics like love, loss, drinking, cars and things like that,” he says. “They're such broad topics, they'll connect with a lot of people on a pretty basic level.

“I like to write about more specific feelings and circumstances. They're less likely to hit everyone in a crowd, but the people they do hit will connect with them – deeply - and hopefully it will stick with them, too.”

When asked what he strives to make happen in each show, he says, “Again, it's back to that connection. I want to make as many people as I can in the audience feel something. Really feel something.  I want to make them remember something they haven't thought of in a while, or to see someone they love in a slightly different way. I want one of my songs to become the mental soundtrack to one of their memories.”

Recently Aaron has opened for James McMurtry, Randy Rogers, Stoney Larue, William Beckmann, Drake White, Gary P. Nunn, The Wilder Blue, John Baumann, Adam Hood, Allie Colleen, Brandon Rhyder, and many more. It’s an impressive list, you have to admit.

When he’s not in his Hill Country home in Texas, writing or recording, Aaron can be found driving across the United States and beyond with his rescue pals Oscar and Zeke. He plays theaters, listening rooms, festivals and back yards... the kind of places where “all the seats face the stage”, as he puts it, and folks are there to hear the songs and the stories behind them.

Listening to his songs, you won’t hear a lot of effort to sound like anyone else or to play by any particular set of rules. Sure, it’s only natural that dashes of heroes like Lyle Lovett or Guy Clark sneak into the stew, but what you’ll mostly hear are stories being told from the perspective of a man who has been there and wants to share what he learned.

Laundry hanging on the line, or the death of a dear friend in the passenger seat of his truck; if it’s in the song, it probably happened.

As he says, “The truth is the shortcut to everything.”

Some of Aaron's awards and accolades - 2026 Howlin’ Dog Music Group Grant award recipient, 2023 Josie Awards Country Male Vocalist of the year, 2021 Winner of the Texana Troubador Songwriting Competition, 2019 and 2022 Participant in the Buddy Holly Songwriter's retreat, and a 2019 Finalist in the Texas Songwriter University Competition.

Absolutely nothing compares with hearing the music in person performed by the musician himself. Nothing even comes close. But if you aren’t familiar with his music or want a little “hit” of LaCombe before his show Saturday night, look for the Aaron LaCombe playlist on Spotify.
