ALAMOSA – Two individuals from the San Luis Valley have qualified to compete at the National High School Finals Rodeo which will take place on July 13-19 at the Sweetwater Events Center in Rock Springs, Wyo.
Ben Sittler of Monte Vista qualified by finishing third in the state in bull riding with 45 ½ points.
Rivers Hill of Saguache won the state championship in girls cutting with 137 points.
Hill was also second in the girls all-around standings with 354 points.
No SLV rodeo performers were able to qualify for the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo which will be June 23-29 in Des Moines, Iowa.
