Long-time Ski-Hi Stampede committee member, Charlie Burd, waves to the crowd on Sunday, July 13, after it was announced that the rodeo arena in Monte Vista would now be named Charlie Burd Arena. Burd has been a member of the Ski-Hi Stampede committee for 50 years. A video was shown on the big screen of Burd, talking about how he had contributed so much to the committee and rodeo scene. Everyone cheered and clapped for Burd. Burd thanked many members of the Ski-Hi Stampede committee, and he also waved to the audience.
