Weather affects this weekend's playoffs

ALAMOSA – Several postseason events involving San Luis Valley high school sports teams have been postponed because of the recent winter storm. 

Four high school football games were postponed. Alamosa High School's game at Lamar has been rescheduled to Sunday at 2 p.m. The Holyoke at Centauri, Eads at Sierra Grande, and Springfield at Sanford football games will all be played on Monday at 1 p.m. 

As of press time, the Monte Vista at Meeker game is tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. 

The state gymnastics tournament will now take place on Saturday at Thornton High School. The Class 4A team finals will begin at 9:25 a.m., and the Class 5A and 4A individual finals will begin at 6:35 p.m. 

Some of the volleyball regional tournaments have been postponed. The Class 3A Region 4 Tournament at Alamosa High School will take place Sunday beginning at 10 a.m. The Class 3A Region 11 Tournament at Bennett, which includes Centauri, will also take place on Sunday and will begin at 1 p.m. The Class 2A Region 9 Tournament at Meeker, which includes Sanford, will be on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. The Class 1A Region 10 Tournament at Sargent will be on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. 

The Class 2A Region 8 Tournament at Del Norte is still going to be played Saturday at 10 a.m. as scheduled. 

There is also a change with the Adams State University basketball games. Friday's ASU men's game against Texas-Permian Basin was moved to Sunday at 11 a.m. The women's game against Cameron (Okla.) has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. 

Saturday's games are expected to be played as scheduled.
